Online Safety

We take the safety of children very seriously at Dorothy Barley Infant School, E safety is an important part of this. Educating children about the safe use of technology is vital. E Safety is taught to the children throughout the school, lesson are tailored to the age of the children so appropriate messages are being understood. Children learn about appropriate behaviours online and about how they can stay safe.  Children need to learn what is appropriate and not appropriate, what rules they have to follow, to keep themselves safe online.

Each child signs an acceptable use policy (AUP) this document highlights the rules and expectations we expect the children to agree with.

E safety and keeping children safe is often in the news. The National Online safety website is an excellent website which provides guides for parents on certain apps, programs or platforms. Here are a few for you to look at. (Others are available on their website www.nationalonlinesafety.com )

If you would like any help with a particular E-Safety issue, please contact the office and speak to our E-Safety officer, Mrs Seaton.
